New Delhi,(KCN): In a somber turn of events, Mahendra Prasad Panda, a distinguished retired officer of the Indian information Service, breathed his last at a private hospital in New Delhi. The news of his sudden demise has left a community in mourning, both in the capital city and his hometown.
Mahendra Prasad Panda’s life journey began in Ichchada village under Bhagabanpur gram panchayat of Bhadrak district. Born into a respected family, he dedicated his early years to education, later becoming the Headmaster at Chudakuti Indragovind High School. His career path then led him to the Odisha Administrative Service and subsequently to the Civil Service (Allied Service) Delhi Cadre of the Government of India.
The late Panda’s professional trajectory included serving as Joint Director in Odisha-Assam, culminating in his retirement as Director from Delhi. Throughout his career, he played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he served.
Mahendra Prasad Panda was more than a dedicated officer; he was a family man. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones, including his only son Satyaban Siddharth, daughter-in-law Sanjukta, grandson Sarthak, wife Manjulata, elder daughter Soumya Sanghamitra, and younger daughter Smita Sucharita.
Raised among five brothers, the late Panda not only educated his younger siblings – Padmanav, Hemendra, Rabindra, and Soumendra – but also contributed to the betterment of his village. He played a crucial role in establishing high schools and fostering positive changes in the community.
