1994 batch IFS Officer and Deputy DG (Forest), Bhubaneswar-Ranchi Regional Office Mr Aarta Trana Mishra faces Union Forest, Environment and Climate Change Miniistry Music

The Union Forest , Environment and Climate Change Ministry has taken strong note of notorious activities of Arta Trana Mishra, a 1994 batch IFS officer of Jharkhand cadre, Deputy Director General (Forest), Bhubaneswar-Ranchi Regional Offices.

The Ministry after receiving series of allegations, finally cut short IFS officer Mishra’s power and relived from Bhubaneswar and Ranchi offices forest related charges and given additional charge of these Regional Offices to DDGF, Nagpur Regional Office , S Senthil Kumar .

Ministry also directed Additional DG (Forest) Anjan Mohanty to lead a 3 members probe committee, and the committee is visiting Sundargarh’s Bonai and Koira regions to collect report from ground on allegation of diversion of forest land for non-forest purposes for some private mining companies.

The probe committee will verify documents of some private mining companies, those who successfully diverted forest land for non-forest purposes in view of undue favour of IFS Officer Mishra. And also Mishra’s report regarding this.

Kumar will also work as Chairperson, Regional Empowerment Committees of respective Regional Offices in Bhubaneswar and Ranchi. ‘The order with respect to constitution of RECs of Bhubaneswar and Ranchi stands modified to this extent till further orders,” a Ministry order which in possession of The Kalinga chronicle team reads.

IFS Officer Mishra allegedly had shown undue favour to several Mining Company and exploration agencies in Odisha and Jharkhand in diverting forest land for non-forest purposes . Mishra will now see Forest Laws and Climate Change wing in Bhubaneswar and Ranchi. A NH projects in Jharkhand and few mines companies in Odisha allegedly diverted forest land for non-forest purposes , which was brought to the attention of Ministry.

Several mines companies mostly privately run have been benefited during the Mishra’s tenure as Deputy Director General (Forest), Bhubaneswar-Ranchi Regional Offices.

A Ministry order , reads “ execution of works related to implementation of Van ( Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan) Adhiniyam, 1980 and Rules there under in Regional offices in Bhubaneswar and Ranchi, shall be here by executed by S Senthil Kumar DDGF , Nagpur Regional Office.

Decision with respect of diversion of forest land for non-forest purposes and allied subjects under Van ( Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan) Adhiniyam, 1980 shall henceforth be executed by S Senthil Kumar closing the door for tainted Mishra in decision making.
